A 12-year-old girl with sickle cell anemia in Saudi Arabia just got a blood transfusion that was tainted with HIV.

In response, some politicians were fired/fined.

Problem solved.

Except the ‘problem’ of HIV in Islamic countries wasnt caused by some administrative oversight.

There are no gay people in Iran.

None at all.

No one has sex outside of heterosexual marriage.

There certainly isnt any IV drug use.

All of these things are forbidden according to the Muslim belief system. Forbidden, with dire consequences.

I just cant imagine what is keeping people from getting tested for HIV in Islamic countries. Donating blood as a way to ‘get tested’ without ‘GETTING TESTED FOR HIV’ or just out of ignorance, so a little girl gets infected with HIV tainted blood.

There is a very big problem with HIV in the Islamic world, and its not going to be solved by firing half a dozen administrators.

    To be fair, the same things could be said of the Western world, at least in some places — notably the Bible Belt. But here they didn’t fire any of the people who overlooked the problem.

    I live in the country..and I dont really like to advocate its government neither is it profitable for me..but as a matter of fact..of course if you want the “fact”(rather than what the wikipedia says!) we dont have homosexuality.not 0% of course…but Im sure its the least in all the world countries and it has never been a major issue here..

    Ayaan Hirsi Ali (the bane of the failthoughtblahg/Twatsonista miasma of mediocrity, need it be said) is priceless on this subject in Nomad . When she worked as an interpreter, Somali men refused to believe their HIV status – “Muslims don’t get ‘Aydis’!” Aydis indeed.
