Playmobil imitates life.

Quoth the younger Free-Ride offspring, "The rabbits are mating because they want to have bunnies."

While I would not presume to know the volitional states of rabbits, whether real or plastic, I agree with the child's assessment of the activity in which the rabbits are engaged.

Are these two Playmobil items separate pieces? If so, it seems as though the male rabbit was specifically designed for mating. Could there be any other natural rabbit posture for long extended forelimbs and folded hind limbs?

After further research, I stand corrected. The company's information for this toy shows the 'male' rabbit begging for food and/or attention from its farmer friend.

Well he may want bunnes, but from her posture she's practicing birth control. :)

Well, lordosis may be hard to model in this kind of plastic! Give Playmobil a break...

You need a song to go with that. May I suggest >Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits" by The Magnetic Field.

Janine,

Never give a child ideas, they get enough on their own.

Well, it is from a three CD set titled 69 Love Songs.

if you knew how i long
for you now that you're gone
you'd grow wings and fly
home to me, home tonight
and in the morning sun

let's pretend we're bunny rabbits
let's do it all day long
let's nibble on lettuce and carrots
say mother nature wrong
and when we've had a couple of beers
we'll put on bunny suits
i love to nibble your ears
and do as bunnies do

let's pretend we're bunny rabbits
let's do it all day long
i can keep it up all night
i can keep it up all day
let's pretend we're bunny rabbits
until we pass away

Alright, the song does enter into furry territory. Perhaps we do not want the kids to go that way.

It'd probably be more worrisome if the kid had the rabbits post-coital smoking.
