Whatever the disease that causes such disgusting public displays of bad taste, it appears to be infectious. The University of California football team has contracted said disease, as evidenced by their current display of fashion faux paux: yellow jerseys. During my freshman year of high school, our football team wore yellow jerseys (with yellow pants and blue helmets). We looked like giant bananas. Cal looked equally as stupid last night.

Perhaps the ugliest uniforms of all time were in baseball in the 1970's and the 1980's. For instance, there were the Pittsburgh Pirates and their infamous uniforms that mixed gold and black in different ways, sometimes using an all white pinstripe, but all topped off with a hideous painter's cap instead of a baseball cap. They were known as the "bumblebee uniforms."
The White Sox had some pretty hideous uniforms in the 1980's as well.

As I recall Kansas City had shiny green and gold. Much, much worse. The painter's caps, though, make historical sense. Take a look at the old tobacco cards. Bring back the handlebar mustaches!

No one looked good in the 1970s. The white sox wore shorts for gods sake! But those pirates uniforms were acceptable because they won world series. Everything looks better when you win.
Not all yellow/gold jerseys are ugly. The Georgia Tech home unis look pretty sweet.

Hey, you ain't seen nothing yet. Just wait until the Ducks get their yellow helmets (yes, that's right, all yellow from head to toe!).
Of course, I'd settle for the plainest looking uniforms in the world right now if it meant we could have avoided the ass kicking we took last night at Cal. That was truly an embarrassing performance.
