In happier news, the BSB (that's the Big Sudoku Book) is now finished! Yay! It will take a while to turn it around into an actual book, so look for it next summer. Now it's time to get back to the BECB (the big evolution/creation book). I'm still hoping to have a first draft of that done by the end of the year, but with everything else that's been going on that might not be realistic. I hope to get back to regular blogging shortly. Between book deadlines, the looming end of the semester, and now a basement flood, it's been hard to find the time.

I have not been blogging much lately, a state of affairs likely to persist until the end of the semester at the start of May. This is partly a consequence of blogger burn-out; I just flat haven't felt like blogging. Mainly, though, it is because this semester has been an unusually busy and…
Turns out I have a blog. Who knew! A combination of lack of time and, frankly, lack of enthusiasm have kept me from the blogosphere lately, but I thought I would poke my head up just to let y'all know I'm still here.
So let's see. I have a busy weekend on tap. Tomorrow is JMU's annual…
Update, May 17, 2:35 pm: Many thanks to Jerry Coyne for clearing up the question of Richard Dawkins's views on human inevitability in evolution. As I thought, Dawkins does not hold the view Ruse attributed to him. Coyne has Dawkins's response to Ruse's piece, so follow the link and go have a…
The BECB (that's the big evolution/creation book) is slowly winding its way towards a complete first draft. I just finished writing a chapter about religious experiences. Creationists routinely tell me they have had them, you see.
So over the last few months I have read my share of the…
... the BSB (that's the Big Sudoku Book) is now finished!
Are you sure?
Congratulations! I really don't see why you couldn't finish another book in two months while mucking out your basement and teaching, though. I mean, that'd just be lazy.

Thanks for the link. I think we'll have to save it for the sequel, though. I currently feel about Sudoku puzzles the way I feel about the Monty Hall problem. I'll be perfectly happy never to see another one again for as long as I live!

I am happy to report that, thanks to the heroic efforts of the restoration folks, my basement is now bone dry. Of course, my pretty floor had to be ripped up, and portions of the walls had to be cut away, but whatever. Most of what got destroyed was just garbage and clutter, so at least I was finally forced to clean out my basement!
And now you have all that nice empty space, just waiting to be filled with more YEC lit. Or YECs. Or whatever.
Tebrikler! Ben gerçekten neden görmüyorum olamazdı raÄmen öÄretme ve bodrum dıÅarı mucking ise kitapta iki ay baÅka bitirmek. Tembel olmaya sadece istiyorum demek.
