Talk about skewing the results with a leading question... but anyway:
You scored as Scientific Atheist, These guys rule. I'm not one of them myself, although I play one online. They know the rules of debate, the Laws of Thermodynamics, and can explain evolution in fifty words or less. More concerned with how things ARE than how they should be, these are the people who will bring us into the future.

I gave it a shot. Figured I would be apathetic, and that was my top score at 83%. 75% scientific, hmmm. But 50% spiritual? I don't think so.

That's pretty much what I scored. I prefer to call myself a scientific blognostic, though - there's no way to know whether these things are worth the power used to display them on screen.

Gee, I scored as a scientific atheist too, and I'm not even an atheist. They shouldn't let people like me take the test.
But that's the kind I definitely would be if I were an atheist. Or was when I was one, for that matter.

Does that mean that I am more scientific or more atheistic than our favourite silver back?

I guess this means that my world-view is fairly consistent.

Wow, me too! I'm noticing a pattern here...
Im curious about how the quiz scores the questions where the middle box is checked. I found quite a few questions where my answer would have been started "Yes, but..." or "No, however...". A fourth radio button would have been appreciated.

Like BBZ I tried to publish my result but oviouly did it wrong. I can not remember the rest of my results and they are not relevant but like BBZ I was a 100% Scientific Atheist and I posed the following quetion: Does this mean that I am more scientific or more atheistic than our favourite silver back?
Posted by: Thony C. | May 24, 2007 8:12 AM
Both, I should think, as I am neither a scientist nor an atheist, rumours to the contrary notwithstanding.
Posted by: John Wilkins | May 24, 2007 8:46 AM
I'm more scientific and more militant than you, but less agnostic. Hey, maybe this test works!
Posted by: PZ Myers | May 24, 2007 10:41 AM
And come on, John...an internet quiz tells you that you are actually an atheist, and who are you going to trust? Yourself?

I nailed the scientific aspect, fully 100%. And apparently I'm angry...oh wait I knew that already, didn't know I was so apathetic though. Guess I should spend more time developing my blog (http://angrybychoice.blogspot.com/) and bring the apathy points down.
[I edited out the table code - guys, don't post the full table the quiz gives you at the end - it causes havoc with the display (I had to edit mine to remove the width tags) and the commenting system - JSW]

You are an atheist and an agnostic. That's exactly what we've been trying to tell you for the past six months!
Posted by: Larry Moran | May 24, 2007 11:36 AM
Okay ... I'm equal parts (25% each) Militant Atheist, Apathetic Atheist and Spiritual Atheist (Wha?), with a soupcon of Angry Atheist (17%). All that on top of 42% Agnostic and 83% Scientific Atheist. Oh, and 8% Theist (wherever that came from).
I'm so confused it's a good thing that there is two and a quarters of me to figure it out!

Sorry about the double post ... I checked after the apparent error by going completely off site and returning but there was no comment so I tried again.

Had I taken this survey 5 years ago the outcome would have been different. I blame you and a few others for the change.

What a wonderfully accurate test:o)
No what do I have to do to reach 100% Agnostic?
What kind of atheist are you?
You scored as an Agnostic
Agnostics consider the possibility that they may be wrong about God's existence, no matter which side of the fence they stand on. Always willing to objectively evaluate the most ridiculous proof, nevertheless, these guys are skeptics of the Nth degree.
Agnostic 83%
Scientific Atheist 75%
Apathetic Atheist 50%
Theist 42%
Spiritual Atheist 42%
Militant Atheist 25%
Angry Atheist 8%

To score 100% agnostic you would probably have to answer "undecided" on every question, except the ones that ask you if you are agnostic.
Posted by: John Vreeland | May 24, 2007 7:12 PM
Or leave all the answers blank.
Posted by: PZ Myers | May 24, 2007 10:45 PM
John & PZ,
Thanks, selecting all as undecided leads to a tie breaker (I surmise that these are the critical questions) and selecting a tie breaker question led to 50% on everything.
Being 100% Agnostic would probably result in starvation :o) Everyone has to make choices.
