Sequencing provider Complete Genomics has announced that they have orders booked for 500 entire human genome sequences, just one year after the company launched in dramatic fashion at the 2009 AGBT meeting.

An Australian insurance provider has announced that it will offer discounted genome scans from personal genomics provider Navigenics to its customers - but the information generated by the tests may then be used to change insurance premiums depending on a potential customer's genetic risk profile. Is this necessarily a bad thing?
