Its got a place to put your rings and everything. Again, an historical visual trope … the pinkish, plasticy side of the 1960s.
I can’t tell if you’re keeping an exceedingly straight face, or you really don’t know.
’60s? Look at the computer, their fashions, etc … I place this between 1977 and 1981.
Linda: Ah, you must be very young. The 60s actually ran from about 1966 through the early 70s, but kept its grip much longer. Thus, these retro pieces tend to get confused.
I really can’t take this seriously. Farting didn’t make the top 10? Ridiculous!
OK, you need to be a middle-aged Brit like me to really get this. It’s a parody of Tomorrow’s World, the BBC’s classic science and technology program. I’ll bet that the second presenter is a parody of Judith Hann, the program’s longest-serving presenter and a household name in the UK at the time. Her fashion jumpsuit is a dead giveaway.
Thank you, that is very helpful.
You know a parody is good when it stands on its own. Of course, it’s alway better to have the context…
