Mentally, I think of ‘sudo’ as ‘No, seriously’ prepended to the command.
The first time I ran into sudo I was installing Automatix. It basically told me to enter “sudo” and my password.
I was thinking “secure.”
Oh well – for the rest of us, there’s always Wikipedia…
