The Bonobos are always amazing. I have to somewhat disagree with Dr. Savage-Rumbaugh's conclusion that it's "culture" and not "biology". It's much more likely that, just like with us, it's a combination of the two. After all, they are not some distantly related species but our closest living relative. Therefore, we share a good deal of our biology with them as we know from DNA comparisons.

That said, the analogy between where the Bonobo is at today and where our direct ancestors were at 2-3 million years ago is a very interesting one.
