... according to news reports flying around the airwaves.
It will be interesting to see what happens to those currently supporting him. It is likely that if Edwards does not endorse anyone, his supporters would drift to Clinton, since it is believed that Edwards has been collecting the whiter among the white votes (those who would never vote for a black man). On the other hand, those individuals may also never vote for a woman, especially a Clinton.
So, perhaps many of Edward's supporters would drift to out of the primary race entirely, and then go for the Republican nominee during the General Election. Depending, of course, on who that nominee is.
Edwards will likely make his announcement at 1:00 PM EST today. That announcement, and the next seven days, will be very interesting indeed.

I'll be going with Obama from this point on, but let's hope that in Minnesota people are still inspired to come to caucuses for Al Franken.

"drift to out... entirely, and then go for the Republican nominee"
Sure, but you mentioned that already: Hillary Clinton is a Republican the last time I checked ;-)

I liked Edwards because he seemed smarter and more progressive than the other two, not because of his genetics.
I can't imagine there's more than a handful of Democrats that find both Obama and Hillary so repugnant that they'd vote for any of the Republicans. Ron Paul is the only one not promising more of the same, and even he's a total wackjob.

Why oh why.
Edwards and Gravel were my favorite dems.
