Fun things going on in the neighborhood.

Sandra Porter, a bioinformatics expert, has been blogging on SQL and other programming issues over at Discovering Biology in a Digital World. Her site is here, look around at her recent posts.

This is a post I've been meaning to point out for some time but keep not getting to it. Tangled Up in Blue Guy writes about school boards, what they really do, and what they are really about. Here. This is important if we are going to have a conversation (which we are in fact having) about school boards, evolution, and creationism.

Why Does Jesus Support Child Pornography People? Inquiring minds want to know. Wonkette wants to tell us.

The Buzz is getting Edgy. "It seemed like a good idea at the time: But immediately after this photo was taken, the alien bored its way through her skull and nested in the right hemisphere of the singer's brain. We might learn something from this."... Hmmmm. Check it out.

The Hot Sauce Series, at Gene Expression, now classic, is here.

And finally, The 58th Carnival of the Liberals is here.

Thanks for the mention, Greg! Although, when I start my campaign for school board I should probably go back and clean it up a bit. I don't want any silly nannies fretting over the fact that I used a few obscenities.

I like scientists, I really do.
