Things to do while everyone else is watching the Super Bowl

Category: Blogospherics

During the last presidential election year, more people watched the Super Bowl than voted. That is a somewhat misleading figure, because some of the people watching the Super Bowl were not eligible to vote. But if I recall correctly, turnout was pretty high (by American Standards) that year as well. So while it may be a comparison that is hard to interpret, it is likely not without meaning.

My daughter and I have an annual tradition of watching the Super Bowl. We do it mainly for the snacks. (But no double dipping allowed!) I'm a Vikings Fan, of course, as an adopted Minnesotan, but this year I can root for both sides because I'm from New York but I'm also an Honorary Bostonian. But who cares about any of that ... I promised you some good stuff to do during the game, so here goes.

First, here's a few blog posts you will surely enjoy:

At Salad is Slaughter, we have the story of a billboard proposed by the Vegetable Rights Coalition that was rejected by the Billboard Police.

A little politics: "European Politics Have No Right Wing" from Uncertain Principles. No right wing. Wouldn't that be nice?

Go see some super commercials at Living the Scientific Life.

Here is this week's very challenging Geopuzzle at Chris Rowan's place.

(see this hint on that Geopuzzle)

Have a look at this video about the New England Patriots:
