I swear, the beta blockers were prescribed (if getting rid of migraines counts as performance enhancement, I’m all over it). And I’m stingy on the coffee. It’s yummy, but I never know whether it will perk me up gently, put me to sleep, or make my heart and my mouth go at double-speed. Stimulants and I have a weird relationship.
This time of year I need something to counteract the Benadryl. It’s springtime here in coastal California, the flowers are blooming, and I’m sneezing.
Coffee used to be my stimulant of choice, but it doesn’t always settle well any more. So I’ve switched to black tea. LOTS of tea.
If you want more caffeine you could switch to green tea. Its “green-ness” will be easier on your stomach, according to the Placebo Effect, but you will have much more caffeine.
