Installing Ubuntu vs Installing Microsoft Vista

I recommend partitioning your hard drive so that you have a small partition for the system and a large partition for the /home directory.

Now, for a point of comparison, how to install Windows Vista... ... how well this goes will depend on the machine you want to install Vista in:

I really thought the Hardy Heron install would be quicker, but I have to admit that the Vista install in the second video was the fastest successful install of a Win OS I've ever seen. His machine must be state of the art. :)

Seriously, I went from blank hard drive to surfing the net in under 20 minutes with a Ubuntu install.
