Creationism "Museum" to expand, targets children

Posted on: May 27, 2008 1:30 PM, by Greg Laden

The Answers in Genesis Creation Museum of Kentucky is planing to expand. Some of the expansion will be internal ... the construction of additional kiosks. Some will be external, including the construction of a playground. All of the planned expansion efforts will be targeted towards children.

Ken Ham, director of the museum, also indicated in a recent interview that the purpose of the museum was to convert people to Christianity. This is something that should be noted by any public schools planning on sending children to this facility.

Their New Slogan:

New Construction - Same Old Crap!

Can't we sue them for child abuse now?

Isn't it amazing how they use children's curiosity about dinosaurs as a way to lead them down the path of absolute authority, removing the very curiosity that got them there in the first place?

This is the type of thing that just turns my stomach. I agree with Richard above.

Well, there's SOME growth. Ham isn't hawking just an "alternative view" of how the world works. He's actively enrolling people in Christianity.

This kind of stuff makes me lose sleep...and my appetite.

Bad Science should be illegal.....
Public schools should be prohibited from this museum of amusement, by the separation clause alone....

Well . . . You gotta go after the group most likely to believe the claptrap (what is clap and why would you want to trap it?) you are selling. Apparently, they have already run through the adults who (a) believe this and (b) have the money to go there and have their idiocy reinforced. If they can start attracting school groups (preferably early elementary or pre-school (ones who think the Flintstones is a documentary)), that's where the real creculity lies.

(((Billy))),

I waited and waited, but nobody else would take the bait.

"what is clap and why would you want to trap it?"

Here, let me help.

It's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it.
