Yes, Virginia, eventually the annoying and evil people will dry up and blow away. An anti-gay organization in Arkansas is trying to get a ballot initiative going to ban unmarried couples (and thus gay couples) from adopting children. But the Arkansas Family Council Action Committee is not getting the signatures it needs.
In an email to supporters committee chair Jerry Cox said that while it expects to have the required number of signatures by Monday it expects that about 25 percent will be disqualified.

Under Arkansas law groups seeking to have initiatives placed on the ballot have an additional 30-days from the deadline to collect more names if they collected the required number but saw some of the names discounted.

“Response from churches has improved considerably. This petition drive has momentum, and I believe, by God’s grace and with lots of hard work, we’re going to put this measure on the ballot and see it passed in November.”
LGBT rights group Arkansas Families First said it intends to fight the initiative.
The Arkansas Family Council, was largely responsible for the passage of an amendment to the Arkansas Constitution banning gay marriage.
