He is also politically active and a pillar of society at the local and state level.

Greg - I don't even know how to thank you for this.
Last year, I got a huge volume of traffic from you and from PZ because I wrote a passive-aggressive plaint about my birthday being insignificant. I was going to do the same this year, but you have made me feel so good about being your friend that I can't even muster the false indignance.
Now, I have to write about Mickey Mantle's birthday.

Happy Birthday from the peanut gallery.
Cheers!

I never wish pillars of the community happy birthdays, but in your case Mike I'll make an exception.

Thanks, John and Adrian.

I love that you are Minnesota's Voice of Atheism . . . and that you can admit to false indignance about your birthday. That's what I love about you, the SUPER-smartness (memory like an elephant), sense of humor, and all-around great brother. Thanks for taking up the cudgel of unpopular causes . . . someone has to do it! I've already taken the "christ" out of xmas . . . so I've done my part.
Great Dylan-esque photo, I suppose that was on purpose.
Love, Nancy
