Just so you know...

BBC, MSNBC, CNN, Le Monde, all the major news outlets across the world are abuzz with the collapse of the world economy that started earlier this week with the bankruptcy of the word's fourth largest bank (Lehman). The end is near. Just thought you should know.

French authorities have rescued two French citroyen from Pirates in the Gulf of Aden. Arrrrg.

Sarah Palin is using the election as an excuse to refuse to cooperate with a legal investigation of her misconduct as Governor of Alaska. Arrrrg.

What's a citroyen? A citoyen eating a citron in a Citron, perhaps?

Even more puzzling, according to the linked article, it seems there were flying ships involved: "The ships attacked that day flew under an Iranian flag, a Japanese flag and a German flag."

Man, I've been predicting the whole economic collapse thing for years - when do I get my job as a market analyst? I've been watching the news drip out for months now, and every time some "expert" predicts that the worst is over, or it's really not that bad, I think "You ain't seen nothing yet..."

Sometimes I frackin' hate being right.

I would like to see what the combination of nomination and turning into a jerk about the investigation are doing to Palin's vaunted approval ratings.

Actually, clinteas, the weird thing is that it is in the MSM. It's not the lead story, but something is going on with the MSM around here. I don't know yet whether they've just got their hands on a new narrative (McCain/Palin lies) or whether they've gone into full revolt, but there is change in the air. Let's hope they can keep from turning their reporting on the campaign into a story that bumps the election itself.

Economies are crashing, pirates are running amok, and Friday is Talk Like a Pirate Day. The end is near. Only the faithful will be extended a noodly appendage to hang on to when the world crumbles like parmesan cheese

The Palin popularity is tanking fast in the latest polls - she now ranks 4th of the four candidates....
