Consider this question from a recent poll:
"Should topics such as creationism or intelligent design be taught in public schools alongside the theory of evolution?"
The correct answer is, of course, no. And the poll results support this:
This may not seem remarkable, until you learn where the poll is from. It is from "One New Snow" which is apparently some sort of Christian Yahoo thing:

I'm going to be in this silly debate on "Should Intelligent Design Be Taught In The Schools?" with creationist kook Jerry Bergman on 16 November, sponsored by CASH and the local Kook Central. The latest hangup, though, is that the creationists want to have a pre- and post-debate survey, and they…
Of course! They're lurking everywhere, scheming to get onto school boards and wreak havoc. I recently heard from a few people at the University of Hawaii who were shocked to see some of the responses of school board candidates there to the question, "Should public schools teach intelligent design…
As I hear people debate about evolution and religion, I feel like I'm listening to a political debate between two middle schoolers. One says that you have to vote republican because taxes are bad and the other says no, democrats are right because the republican kid has cooties. No one seems to…
The Ecological Society of America has just published an article that surveys the state of science teaching in the US. Some of the results are somewhat reassuring — the majority of our college-bound high school students are at least getting exposed to evolution to some degree — but they're also…
That poll got Pharyngulated earlier today. :)
Pharyngulated
LOL!
PZ is the new Cowboy Neil!
Greg, that would be One News Now. A project of the American Family Association. They have a mailing list I'm on, for purposes of tracking their idiocy. We are talking willful stupidity.
One News Now!?!?!? No way, man!!!! It's One New Snow!!!!
I just wish I knew what One New Snow meant. ...
At least One New Snowjob a Day.
The real worry here was the poll result before pharyngulization.....
For some reason, someone submitted this post to OpenLab although it is totally impossible to put it into a book (not to mention ridiculous compared to dozens of great posts from this blog). Should we ignore it, or keep it on the list of submissions?
I would prefer that this post not be submitted to OpenLab, though I certainly appreciate that it is appreciated and all.
Now, a study of internet polling in the sciences and related area, that was either blogged about or part of a blog, ... that would be different of course.
OK, I'll remove it in the next iteration. Submit some of the good stuff....
Remember the meme. It's the American Patriarchy Association.
No the poll is showing 92.& % Yes, 7.2% No and the totals have gone up to 376,7825 (a 3000% jump!).
I suspect this just goes to show how these polls get manipulated - maybe even by the organisers themselves.
Yes, try voting or refreshing and it automatically adds 60 or more votes - to Yes, of course!
