An Open Letter to Donna Brazile

Ms Brazile,

I heard your comments on CNN regarding the North Carolina race. See this:

"My Godless Money: Take it or leave it"

Donna, about 20 percent of the Democratic party are atheists. You just told us that the word "Atheist" is properly thought of as equivalent to "jew" (when used in a derogatory way, like to "jew someone down") or "nigger" when used in a derogatory way among, say, non-African Americans. You are quite wrong about this and your comments were deeply offensive.

I think you need to step back and think about the message you are sending out here. When a Democratic activist can not be easily distinguished in her politics from Bill Bennet, it is time for the Party and the Party's supporters to look closely at that person to see if she really represents us.

Because your name appears on the current email solicitation letter for the DNCCC, the DNCCC will not be receiving any funds from me until I hear a clear statement separating the DNCCC from this discriminatory position. I'm asking my readers to do the same.

I would like the Democratic Party go achieve a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. But not by riding rough shod over my human rights. No thank you.

I got a response..

"Not sure if you are speaking about me. I discussed believers and non believers.

And no, I did not say Christ Jesus or anyone else.

So, don't put words in my mouth.

I believe everyone should be represented regardless of your faith or if you have no faith whatsoever.

Trust me!

I did not mention Jews, Muslim, Christians, Hindu, etc.

Take care and good luck

I would add to that, but I'm a bit busy at the moment. See, until the election, I'm engaged in keeping the faith. By that I mean that I'm busting my ass to pull people together behind the idea of a better life for all. For the moment, I'll merely note that I have little time for anyone who isn't doing the same thing.

For someone who is actively dividing the people working with me on this? Well, I have something for them too, but it will wait just a few more days.

Well, neither of us is working with the DNCCC. As I call voters, the second most disturbing sort of thing I hear is complaints about the campaigning itself, many of which trace back to the DNCCC. Madia ran a pretty clean campaign, but most people in the district think he didn't because of the OTT DNCCC anti-Paulsen ads.

Right, we will mainly deal with them later, but I want Brazile off that committee forever and ever.

I guess it is true what they say. What goes around comes around...I remember when Donna said the Democrats no longer needed us old working class people. Now, she's come after you.

Oh, and if you're gay...[Howard Dean] acknowledged a proposal by gay DNC member Garry Shay of California to add gays to the partys affirmative action guidelines for selecting convention delegates triggered a contentious internal debate. Dean said some influential individuals within the DNC Black Caucus, such as Donna Brazile, opposed the plan because it was seen as an affront to the civil rights movement. Brazile, who chairs the DNCs Voting Rights Institute, declined to comment for this article. (From SteveF's link.)

Yeah, that's what Obama means when he says he's personally against us.

Me, I just want CNN to actually find some atheists when they have these kinds of discussion. Don't they have Ed Bruckner's phone number?
