In an interview broadcast Tuesday night, Katie Couric Palin which newspapers and magazines she had regularly read in the past to "stay informed and to understand the world?"Replied Palin: "I've read most of them again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media..."
The Alaska governor declined to get specific when pressed by Couric to name a specific publication. "Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years," she said.
Asked again which news organizations she was referring to, Palin told Couric she had "a vast variety of sources where we get our news.
"Alaska isn't a foreign country where it's kind of suggested that things like 'Wow, how could you keep in touch with the rest of what Washington DC may be thinking and doing when you live up in Alaska. Believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America.".

Gee, Greg. It seems pretty obvious to me what she meant. She meant ALL of them: Woman's Day, Good Housekeeping, Woman's World, and maybe even New Woman. Where else do you think hockey moms get their news?

What no one seems to be mentioning about this is Palin's implied view of the rest of the world. Many foriegn countries are as well connected and as well read (if not more so) than the US.
Bottom line, IMO as a person who only got her passport a year ago, she has a very narrow view of foriegn courties and cultures. I for one would like to know which forign country she was refering to.

When Palin was asked about Hamas, gauging from her dodging, I'm fairly sure she assumed Hamas was some elected official.
To be fair, I doubt most 6th graders would know what Hamas was.
(Watch the video again, where Couric asks about what happens when we support democracy and the people elect someone we don't like.)

I want to see a video tour of her house. Anyone as much an avid reader as her must have a house packed full of books and periodicals. At least a copy of New American or some other informative publication.
