Norm Coleman is Going to Hell

Posted on: October 15, 2008 7:50 PM, by Greg Laden

Well, ok, there is no Hell. So we're just going to tell Norm the truth and he's going to think it's hell.....

This item, from Tangled Up in Blue Guy (see THIS for more commentary) is absolutely outrageous. Unbelievable.

Watch this piece of video from a Norm Coleman ad showing how Al Franken can get out of control angry:

Now, in case you did not know it, let me tell you something: Paul Wellstone was our senator from Minnesota, widely respected and loved by all. He was one of the best senators that ever, ever graced the US Capitol. But he was killed in a tragic plane crash during is last campaign running for re-election. A small plane, it went down in the woods up north. Paul was a white knuckle flier ... absolutely frightened to get on an air plane. It must have been awfully bad.

The reason that Norm Coleman is the Senator from Minnesota is because Paul Wellstone died in that plane crash. Otherwise it never would have happened.

Anyway, you needed to know about Wellstone, and about how Coleman got his job in the Senate, in order to understand why Norm Coleman has to go to hell.

Here it is:

I've seen Al tell this story in person. That's funny, because when I saw the Coleman ad, I never made the connection, but now that I see it, it is totally obvious.

Norm Coleman, you just have to go to hell. Go. To. Fucking. Hell.

Al, you can take this guy.

Al Franken's web site is here.

Look at Mike's commentary here.

That's a great Franken ad responding to that piece of the Coleman ad, but where's the rest of the Coleman ad?

I'm torn between wanting everyone to see what Coleman is capable of and wanting to shield people from the knowledge that anyone could do that. Of course, as I've said before, I'm still nothing like over Wellstone's death.

May Coleman rot in obscurity.

Jim: I'm not showing Coleman's ad on this blog. It shows this bit you see here as well as a bunch of other bits and pieces of Al Franken being mad, including telling people on his radio show to screw off. I'm sure it is all appropriate and I'm sure it is all doctored up to make it look like he is some kind of raving lunatic.

What's even stupider is that in watching that first clip, it was immediately obvious to me that Franken was not angry, he was doing a standup bit. How stupid does Coleman think we are? What next, telling us that Franken thinks women should eat their own placentas?

Well guess what Mr. Coleman? I've never even been to Minnesota, and I sent 30 bucks to Al's campaign. Take that, you lying, sleazy, hell-going-to bastard.

Right back at you, Johnny Vector.

After all, don't most people know that Franken started out as a comedian and is frequently referred to as "comedian and political hopeful?"

The outtake of Franken's "anger" was immediately recognized around here as a way that both comedians and politicians frequently express themselves. Nothing new or germane here . . .

The link to Mike's commentary is broken. I tried item 205 but that didn't work either.

What next, telling us that Franken thinks women should eat their own placentas?

Actually, the placenta is not the woman's. It is the baby's. It is an organ of the offspring, and it is the first organ you lose in life.

Not that that is relevant to the conversation, but I thought I'd point it out.
