As a Capital District kid, are you aware that *all* of the airlift support for NSF activities in the Antarctic (and Arctic) is provided by the 109th Airlift Wing of the Air National Guard, based out of Scotia (just a few miles across the Mohawk from Chad)? http://www.109aw.ang.af.mil/

And, the same person who sent me the path also sent a photograph of the crew in the C5 en route!
