ALASKA SENATE RACE CALLED

Category: Politics
Posted on: November 18, 2008 8:46 PM, by Greg Laden

And the winner is ......

Democrat Mark Begich called winner over Ted Stevens. The count is still on, but MSNCB is reporting that AP is calling the race. A recount could be requested.

Now, everything is ruined for Sarah Palin.

I have mixed emotions now. Awwww.... I'm happy for the USA but sad that I won't have Sarah Palin to bitch about on mah blag! ;-)

OT - Do you know if the votes from candidate #3 in MN. will go to Coleman or Franken?

Am I the only one who's sad we won't have a convicted felon as a senator?

I mean seriously. At least we caught that one. That's more than we can say for most of the scoundrels.

Neither. During the recount, any vote that is not for Franken or Coleman, including the third party candidate Barkley, any other random candidate, or no one at all, will go in one pile known as "other" and will not be part of the count.

Sorry, I didn't make myself more clear. What I meant was...

Are they going to have a "Run Off" if the difference is less than .5%??

Will the people that voted for the 3rd candidate in the Nov. 4th election, vote for Franken or Coleman in the run off? And when will that be?

Unfortunately, no run off in Minnesota. The results of the recount will be the result of the election.
