Ingushetia Civil War Heats Up

Category: Politics
Posted on: November 23, 2008 8:51 AM, by Greg Laden

I once read a novel by John Le Carre about Inguhetia (Our Game). For quite some time, if I mentioned Ingushetia to anyone they assumed I was making it up. But it is quite real. You've heard recently of the problems in Georgia vis-a-vis South Ossetia. Well, Ingushetia is nestled along side of North Ossetia. It is part of Russia.

And now ...

Human rights activists and opposition politicians in Russia's southern republic of Ingushetia have told the BBC that the predominantly Muslim region is now in a state of civil war.

It is reported that more than 800 people have been killed in an escalating conflict which originally spilt over from neighbouring Chechnya six years ago.

Ingushetia is a tiny region with a total population of just 300,000.

"A lot of my human rights colleagues and politicians say it is now a civil war and I agree with that," Magomed Mutsolgov, director of the Ingush Human Rights organisation Mashr, says.

Well; what should be said for Political situation in the North of Caucasus is that, the "Solutions" kept imposed upon tham, from out side of the region. As long as that's the case, then nothing will change in that region. Because, the "Solutions" are not to "solve" anything but, add to the existing ones, just to keep the regional "Nations" on each other's "throats", and keep them under control. One thing the "regional Notions must and should do, and that is to recognize that, they will have to live, side, by side, with one another on that small peace of land", and remember that there is'nt any "["OTHER WAY"]!!!!!!!!!
