Two items of interest for technophiles to read while you take a break from installing and updating and otherwise messing with the new stuff that I know is piled in your living room right now (maybe).

Wired top tech breakthroughs of 2008 and a nice pice on the relatoiship between star wars and real technology. Which, of course, is not as important as the relationship between Star Trek and real technology.
