Norm Coleman’s Chances of Winning the Minnesota Senate Seat

The complaint ignores the existence of counter-evidence, employs one maneuver when it is self-benefiting and opposes the same maneuver when it goes against them, attacks not just the recount but votes that were counted for Franken all along, and overall throws everything against the wall to see what sticks.

Which is what I’ve been saying all along.

The thing that bothers me is that the wingnuts are so deeply indoctrinated with the “Democrat Party Stole The Election” meme that there is no way at all for the case to be resolved in a simple fashion.

The case has already been resolved in the simplest fashion possible for a democratic election. One guy got more votes and won.

All of this demonstrates the tenacity of the losers. The Republican party is losing support. Americans are damn sick of the “southern strategy” started by Nixon and continued by Republicans to this day, which translates unambiguously to a strategy of anti-civil rights for African Americans and encouragement of all the Jim Crow policies that have been discredited throughout our history. Nixon didn’t fool anybody, neither did Lee Atwater and Karl Rove. The Republicans economic policies, discredited in the 1890s with the “robber barons” and then again in the Great Depression, and now once again with the dismal failure of Reaganomics, are all they have. The Republican party is losing support, hemorrhaging support, so they’ve got all these Right Wing lawyer types who see their ideological base is rotten to the core, so they are fighting for their lives. If Franken gets into the Senate, he will be a particularly painful thorn in the side of the Republicans, he is glib and incisive, and goes for the jugular. They are drowning men; they are grasping at straws. You think Florida 2000 was nasty and underhanded? Well watch the GOP in Minnesota in the next couple of weeks. You ain’t seen nothing yet.
