Signing Off

I am signing off for the evening and beyond. Tomorrow AM I will fly, using an airplane, to North Carolina where I will attend the Science 09 conference. I understand North Carolina is hooked to the internet, so I’ll be blogging from there. I also understand that the weather in North Carolina will be virtually tropical. It is going to be 13 degrees F tomorrow night, and 11 degrees F Friday night, then on Saturday it may hit freezing as a high. That’s about forty or fifty degrees higher than where I am now, so, I’ll be bringing shorts and tank tops, naturally.

I believe that of all the people actually attending the conference, I’ve previously met in person two or three, depending on who-all actually goes. I am looking forward to meeting a lot of these folks in the flesh (or whatever). The single person I want to meet most, and whose autograph I want, is of course Corturnix, who is truly our community leader.

    I am glad you will use the airplane to fly. It’s too cold to fly with one’s own wings! Can’t wait to finally meet you in Real Life!

    Forgive the wooo – but THAT’S why it’s so flippin’ cold here in the south. You’re bringing it with you!

    That’s OK – It gives me an opportunity to see if my heater still works.
