You remember the strange video of Michele Bachmann demonstrating the Bachmann Effect. Here is a longer version of the recent congressional questioning showing Bachmann’s entire segment of time:

She is stupid, rude, and reactionary. As usual. Anyway, A local blogger, blogging on “Lake Minnetonka Liberty” has said this:

At the very end, Michele asks a question, then lo and behold, it’s Barney “The Faggot” Frank to the rescue! He cuts her off, and does not allow the question to be answered. What I wouldn’t give to just be able to punch Barney “The Faggot” just once. He’s one of the main reasons we are in the financial mess we’re in now. The other two reasons are Chris Dodd and Chuck Shumer. Time to go to a “happy place”, I feel the anger. Enjoy the video!…

Barny “to the rescue” was Barny Frank telling Bachmann that her time was up, then, after she tried to extend her own time, re-explaining how this all works to her.

Bachman keeps the stupid coming: Now she wants to “bar the dollar from being replaced by any foreign currency.” This is in response to China floating the idea of a new international currency. I have one question: Is she really that f**king stupid, or is it an act? Is she really asking them to indicate the place in the Constitution where these powers were granted, as though she expects every single action of the Federal Government to be outlined in the Constitution?

Sounds like she’s trying to get them so state it isn’t explicitly covered in the Constitution so she has some ammunition for some argument or other.

Wouldn’t the simple answer to Bachmann’s question be

Article I, Section 8
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;…

and

Article I, Section 9
…No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time…

I wouldn’t even say she’s a libertarian, as she has no problem supporting government authority on “moral issues” like abortion and gay marriage.
