    OT: Today, the first day that Iowa’s County Recorders could legally issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. Sounds like it has gone well. I guess it just needed mentioning.

    I’ve always wondered about “Thou shalt not kill” – it’s a total blanket statement; it doesn’t say “Thou shalt not kill people” does it? Thou shalt not kill. Period.

    So presumably God wants us all to be vegetarians? Unless you also believe that plants are “killed” when eaten, so where does that leave us?

    At the Linn County Recorders Office this morning. The county offices are still in their temporary location at Westdale Mall. The group handing out flowers and providing support were from One Iowa.
