She _loves_ homosexuals.
I did not know that.

The woman is a nutcase, and she is sponsored by Focused On the Family, not her local constituents.

Can someone explain the legal arguments against homosexual marriage to me? I simply can't figure out how it's not a cut-and-dry "uh....it's discrimination to not allow it...." court decision every time.

Breathtaking ignorance....

OK, I understand:
A) Kids will be taught that homosexuality is normal and natural
and I understand:
B) Kids will have their civil rights violated.
What I do not understand is how she gets If A then B. How would telling children that homosexuality is normal and natural violate the civil rights of those children?

You see, Virgil, with freedom of speech we are free to be bigoted. By letting them think that Teh Gay is natural and normal, they will probably not continue with their parents' bigotry and while it is not an outright violation to take away their desire to be bigoted against Teh Gay, it is a subtle one.
Given to us by Jesus.

Hey nutcase Bachmann:
Definition of an 'activist judge':
one who uses logic, critical thinking, common sense, fairness, compassion and rule of law to help make decisions.
Definition of a Bachmann type of judge:
One who uses faith, racism, homophobia, xenophobia and knows that he/she knows better than everyone - i.e. fuckwad.

Here's a bullet-point list of all the social change that will happen if gays are allowed to marry.
- Gays will marry

I always wonder if people who think homosexuality is something you can convince someone to "try" aren't a bit too close to "bisexual" on the sliding scale for their own comfort. I've known what homosexuality is and it was actually kinda "cool" to be bi or lesbian, but it never would have occurred to me to try it. girls just do not inspire lust in me at all.

I heard one clergyman actually admit this. He was very uncomfortable thinking that during his formative years, he could have been convinced to try it if it were more acceptable... sort of like worrying that he could have been convinced to try drugs if they were legal.
At least he was honest.
