I also found a link on the documentary's website to an article about the "swine" flu that presented a side of the story I hadn't heard much about with the exception of an interview on Democracy Now.
This is all nice, but the world can not be fed by local, organic naturally grown food. Also, where it is accomplished it is not as affordable. I do not see a total solution.
There is no 'solution' to the system that is in place now, and organic locally/ naturally grown food is not to be used as a substitute. I think the real thought that should be explored is what is the purpose of what we put into our mouths and how was that originally meant to be planted, grown and cultivated. Following any other system, method, or idea will lead to anomalies or glitches that we cannot predict or correct without coming right back to were we are now.
Amazingly, we do have enough food to feed the world right now, just that we have over consumers, wasters, politics and those who think they are more deserving of having the whole chicken rather than sharing it with little Johnnie down the street.
Think I'm wrong? Next time you're out observe when a homeless/ person asks someone for something to eat.. they will always be a set people who think he ought to be looking for a job, making something of himself.. etc etc, rather that just giving the guy something to eat, and when they turn him away they go home to a house full of groceries and order a pizza! It's more than just feeding the world or growing organically,why are these corporations doing what they do, why do we judge someone who just ask for some grub? Ask yourself- why?
