The Importance of Scientific Literacy

“At least once a week, if not once a day, we might each ponder what cosmic truths lie undiscovered before us, perhaps awaiting the arrival of a clever thinker, an ingenious experiment, or an innovative space mission to reveal them. We might further ponder how those discoveries may one day transform life on Earth.”

He wants us to actually have a thought at least once a week or even once a day?

That would cut into TV, i pod, reality show, fair and balanced Faux News, blog reading, commenting, texting, YouTube, Facebook and especially The Pron time.

This is awesome, as usual. Neil degrasse Tyson is so cool!

As far as scientific literacy goes, he is pretty much the answer to everyone’s prayers.
