August was quite a month for blogging. I wrote a slightly higher than average number of posts (just shy of 300), relatively few of peer reviewed work, but a larger than average number of original pieces (some revised from earlier work). My count of apparent readers and hits has been going up all summer, and August was a record month. I now estimate that I have 22 or 23 regular readers and another five or six people who check the blog at least once a month!
Please have a look at catch up on anything you may have missed:
There is a better than average correlation this month between what I thought was good or worthwhile and what you'all were clicking on. The Falsehoods Posts have been something of a success, and they will continue tomorrow. Our discussions of the aquatic ape hypothesis were widely viewed. Some of the technology posts, in particular on the System Wars as well as the Linux Command Line were widely read, and a lot of new people came to the blog because of those. At least one post at Quiche Moraine created a lot of interest both here and at Quiche Moraine. And I blogged about loons.

I pop in and out infrequently on your blog. But I wonder why most of the atheist blogs have ignored the National Center for Science Education report on how evolution teaching is faring around the country in public school systems?

Christ Greg, I'm on here a couple times a day and I can't keep up with your posts. I can't imagine popping in once a month and trying read it all.

I have this blog in Google reader, so I see every post and read most (I usually do not delve into anything that says 'carnival').
I have enjoyed the 'falsehood' posts, although I read them quickly. I love The crazy ranting political posts and I do read the technology posts.

Hmm. I DO read this blog every day and enjoy the hell out of it…I admire the way you expose personality and passion. The main thing is the wide range of interests match mine and I imagine all regular readers.
23 regulars? That's a joke, right? I know I have addicted at least half a dozen.
I write an 800 word newspaper column every week, and I try like hell to keep my own blog up to date but seriously cannot match your posting rate. I DO crib from you and from PZ; steal from the best, as they say…
