Happy Birthday Monte Python!

Category: Birthdays
Posted on: October 6, 2009 10:07 AM, by Greg Laden

Monty Python's Flying Circus is 40.

The show, which was written and acted by John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Graham Chapman, first aired on October 5, 1969 and ran for a total of 45 episodes.

I know I know it was yesterday, but I just heard.

Details here.

Before anyone else gets it - the Ministry of Silly Walks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqhlQfXUk7w

"I'm afraid that the Ministry of Silly Walks is no longer getting the kind of support it needs. You see there's Defence, Social Security, Health, Housing, Education, Silly Walks ... they're all supposed to get the same. But last year, the Government spent less on the Ministry of Silly Walks than it did on National Defence! Now we get £348,000,000 a year, which is supposed to be spent on all our available products."
