If this is something that can happen some times, then how come it is not something that happens all the time?

It doesn’t happen all the time because Members of the House of Representatives usually remember to act like they are adults who are assembled to conduct the people’s business and not a bunch of spoiled toddlers. Although, that might be unfairly maligning toddlers.

Plus, there is a mutally assured destruction nature to it. If anyone does it everyone will do it and things will die in the legislative version of nuclear winter. However, the House Republicans are acting like a rogue nation state with a suitcase bomb and not the US or the USSR during the height of the cold war.

Exhibit #2345234523 on why I hate human beings: because some of the worst sit in the United States House of Representatives.

It baffles me, daily, how some humans can act like they’ve got the brains of archaeobacteria. I don’t know how we got down from the trees.

because there is an inequality in the level of comity in the parties.

democrats don’t do it because it’s impolite, with the additional thought that “if I don’t do it, they won’t”

    Lucy and the football…

republicans do it because it works, for a bit, and that’s all that matters to them.

or more shortly, democrats don’t do it because they think they’re dealing with adults. republicans do it because they know they are.

I want to see some representative suddenly remember that their actions on the House floor are immune from prosecution, and hit the “I object” moron with a fish.

This is the usual dirty, filthy, disgusting, sub-human tactics of the Republican party.

Every citizen of the US should see this behavior.

Yeah, they’re assholes, but what makes them misogynists? Is there more going on than the video shows?

It was House Republicans, mainly southern gentlemen, shouting down the Democratic Women’s Caucus who were talking about how the house heath care bill would affect women

It’s not surprising since Republicans elect significantly fewer women to congress: http://bit.ly/48nLQ0

It would be interesting to know how many people died for lack of health care while the boys had their little pissing match.

No misogyny there, republican females were also involved in “objecting”. This is just typical republican response to anything they don’t like or understand, when they don’t control the house or senate. It has been this way since the Reagan years. What amazes me is that after 3 decades of this kind of behaviour, many democrats still don’t understand that the majority of republicans today can’t be reasoned with on many issues. Certainly not this one.

I’m pretty sure Republican women are capable of hating women.

many democrats still don’t understand that the majority of republicans today can’t be reasoned with on many issues.

You would think it would eventually sink in.
