My first father in law worked on a daily basis with Sagan's father in the Garment District, and of course he met the boy several times, and my advisor in grad school debated Sagan yearly while Sagan was at Harvard on the likelihood of "Intelligent Life" evolving elsewhere in the universe.
I know, obnoxious name dropping and not quite close enough. Best I could do.
