Why doesn't the badger die after eating the cobra? Presumably he eats ALL of the cobra, including the venom. Not as poisonous via the stomach lining as opposed to directly in blood stream?

We should not assume the badger eats the poison glands. Badgers are actually picky eaters, once they've violently ripped their pray to little bits.

May I assume it doesn't always work out that well for the badger?

The conditions in the stomach will destroy most venoms, making them safe to consume. This is one of the reasons that venomous creatures do not kill themselves when they eat their prey.

mikespeir: No, actually. Badgers routinely eat cobras in the Kalahari. One of the main jobs of a Kalahari cobra is to keep the hell away from the honeyh badgers.
