O'Donnell: Republican Loss a Stunning Defeat

Michael Steele is downplaying the significance of the Loss of the 23rd in NY. But Lawrence O'Donnell has set him straight:

Michael, you made the 23rd the most important congressional district in the country. The Democrats didn't do it. You did it. You lost it. You led your party to a disastrous loss that it has never experienced in that district before. Congratulations, nice work.

That wasn't a loss, it was a triumph.

The true Republicans were able to crush an attempt to contaminate the essential purity of the Party of God by a heretic.

Nothing else comes close to being as important.

So...the republican line here is that they successfully got neither a super-conservative-right-winger in, nor a moderate republican, and instead lost out to a democratic candidate in a conventionally republican district, and that this is somehow good for them....how?

michael steele is such a tool... it went from "a huge congressional race that will prove to the country that Americans regret electing Obama" to "you win some you lose some" overnight.
