A New Sibling

Category: Blogging
Posted on: December 7, 2009 12:59 PM, by Greg Laden

Welcome to Sharon Astyk of Casaubon's Book, which used to be here. Sharon has moved Casaubon's Book to Scienceblogs, here. You can find out what she's up to HERE.

... This is the third iteration of the Blog "Casaubon's Book" which covers both our ecological predicament and my response to it. My primary topics are food and agriculture, energy and depletion, climate change and environmentalism - and I approach them both as a writer on science, culture and politics and also as someone who believes we cannot fully separate our day-to-day actions from our understanding of the issues. That is, if we are facing energy depletion, a changing climate and the consequences of our disregard for the world around us, articulating the problems is just one step - the next is creating a viable way of life. So this tracks my journey through both problem and solutions - and a whole heck of a lot of mistakes ...
.

We need more blogs like this. Welcome Sharon!

http://sharonastyk.com/ is where she's moving from. I think she's okay about the last name thing.

Easier to find (and buy) her three books with the last name, after all: Depletion and Abundance, A Nation of Farmers, and Independence Days (plug, plug)

I share her books with friends and family, give them as gifts...

Thanks, Greg - lovely to meet you! And I do indeed use both parts of my name, if only because of the amusing jokes people can make out of my last name. ;-).
