I just want everyone to know that I am awaiting resolution on an order from Trebonics, a used book seller on Amazon. Since I often link to books on Amazon from this site, I want you to know that I'm having trouble with this particular vendor. If they resolve the issue to my satisfaction (which would mean sending me the item I paid for) I'll be happy and I'll let you know. Otherwise ....
... I'll blog their freakin' asses!!!!!!!!!

I note that there's no listing under that name in the AbeBooks database, which means it's likely not a real bookstore. In fact, a Google search for trebronics picks up very little other than this very post! I think you got hosed. Want a used book? Search bookfinder.com and buy it from a real bookseller.

Amazon dot com. harumph. Ever since they decided that one click ordering was a patentable invention and then sued Barnes & Noble for doing something similar, I've had no use for them. If you want to buy from them, go ahead. I won't unless they renounce that action before the patent expires.
Posted by: Shawn Smith | December 21, 2009 4:00 PM
The bookstore in question was listed at a 98 percent approval rating with thousands of sales at amazon.com at the time. Their rating appears to be a bit lower now.
I haven't checked my email yet to see if they've addressed the issues...

UPDATE: OK, they are being snarky. Not as snarky as I am, but the bottom line is that they are not supposed to do that. They still have not demonstrated that they actually understand the problem, but they are sending me a form to fill out that may lead to some kind of resolution.
Which is good, but not adequate. Adequate is just taking the charge for the book (which is a little over five dollars) off my credit card.
I'll keep you posted.

I am currently disputing a book sale with them as well...only mine was a $180 book! Your blog was the second hit on google for trebronics.com...so I hope that means the message to stay away is getting out there. I am involving Amazon at every step of the process as an examination of their feedback indicates a pattern of the same complaints of no delivery of product over and over.
I hope you got your money back!

I also have issue with Quality7 aka milde4. He placed an order with a strangely formatted address. It was also a rare strategy guide. His customer claimed it was never received. I checked the address and it turns out to be a 3rd party shipper to the middle east. The real customer is in Egypt. The guide was delivered to 3rd party shipper. I spoke to a rep at 3rd party shipper who stated the package DID in fact arrive and was being held in "Unknown Packages Zone" at the local Egypt office. The buyer refused to claim package and I can't get it returned. Quality7 filed for refund which is being automatically taken from my account. So I'm out the money and the rare book. Welcome to my blocked list, you opportunistic parasite.

MILDE4 of Trebronics (employer) is a drop-shipper / third party bookseller at Half.com and at Amazon.com . Her name is Betty ( LIZ ) Milde. We do not know her bookselling web site name or address. It appears that she simply takes orders for all types of books, quotes a higher price and then drop ships them by way of another eBay, Half.com or Amazon.com seller who stocks, packages and ships the book. This usually works well until there is a need for a refund. Many college students have used this same technique to make a profit on classmate's orders for text books at a lower price than the campus bookstore. MILDE4 can be reached: betty@trebronics.com
Posted by: Jason A. | May 4, 2010 2:47 AM
Betty Milde lists thousands of rare and expensive books at A1 books and others under a different handle than milde4. The titles of the rare books come up during SEARCH as sellers like A1 are covered by sites like "bookfinder4you" and others...... So , Betty sells them, then orders the book from Half.com or Amazon.com at a lower price. This profit is possible when a potential buyer only uses bookfinders and does not personally check out Amazon.com or Half.com. She does none of the stocking or packing. Her feedback thousands come from the Half.com or Amazon.com sellers and not from the actual book purchaser of another web-site. Because she has earned thousands of easy dollars, any refund should be easy for her as long as she takes time to instruct her third party how to return the book to the actual shipper-seller. If she or the actual seller is not prompt to reply, the final customer will end up being pissed! Perhaps, she is too greedy to give up the money and shaft her customer and leave the original seller with a claim or bad feedback. BETTY MILDE appears to be a third party problem !

We just received an incorrect book from these sellers. We had ordered a collectible Briam Lumley novel in "Like New" condition. They sent us a "Good" condition book with library stamps and markings all over it! The receipt that came with the book was from the library they bought the book from! they chrged us $45 for the book and the one they sent us was $31. Scammers! We have asked for and they have replied that we will get a return on receipt of the book but we can only send it media mail and not in any fashion that reuires a signature. Isn't there some way to get these people off Amazon. I thought what they are doing was illegal or at least against Amazon rules?

Seems fair to me.

Seems at the very least misleading, if not outright fraud. Confirmations list as shipping from Georgia, shipping time 12-24 days. I could walk from Pennsylvania in less time than that. AMAZON TAKE NOTE: YOU ARE LOSING CUSTOMERS BY NOT POLICING YOUR VENDORS!!

I'm in the process of purchasing from these people, via Amazon.com. Wow, I sure wish I knew about their reputation/history before I purchased. Now I understand why they are telling me it will take 20+ days to receive the book. I live approximately FIVE MILES from their stated location per the Amazon website.
Outrageous! I fear I will never receive this book as promised by the description. I'm already working on my complaint letter to Amazon. Sheesh!! I am so mad!!! I hope this link stays as a top listing on Google. They also have a F rating with the BBB. Losers!

Last December, I purchased a book from quality7 on Amazon, and I neeeded the book for a class that began in mid-January. I didn't receive the book in time for class (even though I'd long since received all my other textbooks from other sellers), so I contacted the seller and was told it must've been lost in the mail. They didn't answer my question about whether they had used package tracking, and said I'd have to wait until 30 days after I'd ordered it to request a refund. I got my refund by filing an A to Z guarantee with Amazon. Meanwhile, I bought the book at my college bookstore because there was no way I could wait for them to get it together. Finally, come mid-February, I actually received the book in the mail. Lo and behold, it had a tracking number on it. I looked up the number, and it turns out it was actually shipped a week after I contacted the seller (5 weeks after I ordered it!!) This is totally unacceptable customer service, and against Amazon's seller policies (and I'm a seller on there, so I know)! I don't even know why Amazon lets them get away with this!!
Posted by: K.N. | August 7, 2010 5:20 PM
I have read several accounts that say Quality7 on Amazon is the same (seller) as milde4 (buyer)on half.ebay.com. I came right out and asked Jeff from Quality7 but he refused (3 times) to answer directly, saying only, "We sell through Amazon and use various vendors."
Posted by: T.A. | September 18, 2010 8:06 PM
Although I agree Quality7 stinks, Dropshipping is not against Amazon.com rules, it's not illegal or fraudulent. Many of the sellers on eBay dropship and have high feedback. Even online, if you order a book from Borders...they don't ship it from their own warehouse, they ship it from a third party fulfillment agent, who obviously is huge and will do a great job, but it's still a 3rd party transaction. There are a plethora of large book sellers trading in between sites, I could name about 30. The majority can be spotted via their feedback with frequent out of stock comments or never received book comments. But as long as they stay within site metrics, they'll continue to sell.
Posted by: Chucklenut | September 20, 2010 6:10 PM
Dropshipping may or may not be ethical or legal, but when trebronics failed to ship the book I paid for, they did not provide an adequate resolution.

Yeah, I also have had a problem with this company. I ordered a book from him. the wrong edition was sent to my house I messaged them and asked for a refund or the correct book after 5 emails jeff reluctantly said he would provide a refund I sent the book with tracking to the address he gave and have not heard another thing from him, I've emailed several times over the last month, but with no response.

I have also had a problem with milde4. It was with a book I was selling on half.com. It was a coffee table style coin book that was selling for much more that I listed it. They purchased the book, then almost 4 weeks later said that they were going to return it due to missing pages. That book was crisp it was so new and not used. I shipped the book to PA, and got back a very used book from FL. Not the one I mailed of course. I have tried to fight with half.com, and called them last night after they informed me my account would be debited for the amount of the book plus shipping. I am waiting to hear from the manager. This is just not right what these individuals are doing. In my opinion it is fraud.
Posted by: Kathy | October 8, 2010 8:23 PM
That company look like scammers. The same happens to me. I ordered a book. I never received. They sent an email informing that the book was shipped. When I emailed back, they responded that may be the post office was the responsible for the delivery failure. But I never received the book nor the refund. They are making millions using this strategy.

Yea, I had an order from them recently for a rare item I mistakenly listed for way less than it is worth, and these guys had some weird shipping address as others have noted. It doesn't bug me that I sold it for less than i could have. I would have been happier if it went to someone directly that would actually appreciate the item, instead of make a huge profit and not provide any service but oh well. What does bug me from reading others reports is that this seems like the type of "business" who would have been standing outside ground zero selling american flags and bottled water for $50.00 on 9/12 for personal profit.. Except of course the difference is they wouldn't actually give you anything, and might tell you 25 days later that the american flag you wanted is out of stock.. based on the other reports i am reading about them, i can not believe Amazon of all places would not have blocked them by now. With this type of business and an F rating on BBB! Honest sellers like myself and many others get blocked from Amazon on a daily basis for bogus claims of non-receipt of item or innocent and very infrequent mistakes like an item damaged in shipment, yet allow and all but encourage business like this to thrive! Pretty pathetic if you ask me.
Posted by: ryan | October 28, 2010 2:48 AM
I sell to Milde4 almost weekly on Half and I am happy for their drop ship business. It is a form of arbitrage. They have a spider program that compares book prices on Amazon to Half and when there is a couple bucks to be made they list an item they don't have. When it sells they order it and have it shipped to the buyer. I believe there is $1 to be made on the shipping as well - Isn't Amazon $1 higher?
They must periodically check to verify they can still buy the item for less than they are paying and I presume adjust their listings accordingly.
I don't have time to list a book on several sites and then pull it back when it sells on one of them. I don't begrudge them a profit on resale of my item. I am sure that problems arise from the drop shipping arrangement, but I'm guessing that these are more or less equally divided between the drop shipper, the shipper, the post office, and the buyer. The three-way communication probablly causes its share of misunderstandings as well... Takes some time to unwind the arbitrage!
I'd love to have a copy of that spider program!

Milde4 and Betty of Trebronics have recently screwed me. I sent out an out of print car book, fully intact for $120. After 3 weeks of receiving it, with plenty of time to mishandle it, he filed a complaint that it was received with a broken binding. I went through the buyer claim process and they ruled in favor of Milde4. I received it back NOT how i sent it out(completely broken in half) from Betty Medina (Trebronics) from FL. I feel scammed by half.com, Milde4 and Trebronics.

MILDE4 of Trebronics (employer) is a drop-shipper / third party bookseller at Half.com and at Amazon.com . Her name is Betty ( LIZ ) Milde. I sold a book to her - she had me send it to her customer . This is called a third party sale. Her customer returned the book to me ! BUT, it was not the LIKE NEW book that I had sent. I received a book return of a SPENT PUBLIC LIBRARY BOOK that STANK - STINKED ?
DON'T BUY FROM A BOOKFINDER. DON'T SELL TO A BOOKFINDER !
After 6 months, Half.com finally credited my account for the money that they took back when I threatened to explain the situation to the FTC. Half.com still allows purchases by BOOKFINDERS for third parties at third party addresses. Yet, eBay has built in precautions with PAYPAL and such. I do not understand why HALF.COM does not share the same payment system and address - confirmed system that is enjoyed at eBay.

Who is milde4 and tebonics? More important, where are they selling.. I sell books on half.com and regularly get orders from them. I have a dozen orders last month alone...all shipping to different addresses. In some cases I find they charge $85.00 for a book I am selling for $10.00. Buyer in most cases (of course) expects perfect condition because they are paying top dollar. I wish I knew where they are selling so I can CORRECTLY list my books at that site at lower price. I get more business ... buyer
gets better price ...everybody wins! Where are you folks ordering from milde4 and trebonics? Please let me know. And in the future check half.com first.

MILDE4 TREBRONICS & QUALITY7 NEED YOUR HELP!
Go to Amazon.com---type "quality7" in the 'search, all departments' box---Pick some books that have a low $ ---click on the 'new' or 'used' link (it will have the # of sellers) look for the name quality7 in sellers---buy all the books you want---leave whatever feedback is deserved file any A-to-Z Claims warranted. Remember, feedback is a great way of letting your seller know when they're doing a GREAT job.

Selling under "quality7" they are totally screwing me! They failed to deliver a book, and I have to complete an insurance form and wait for a refund. Complete and total business failure.
Posted by: A | February 10, 2011 1:18 PM
Oh the BBB in SC might work, but the address I was given for the insurance form is:
Trebonics, Inc.
PO Box 769809
Roswell, GA 30076
So the BBB in Georgia may be a good place to hit as well.
I agree that they had several positive comments, which is unfortunate, because when they don't come through it is a total and complete failure. I have never had such a bad experience with an independent vendor on Amazon, and as a graduate student I buy $100's of dollars in books ever year. I definitely plan to do more research on vendors in the future.

I just received a book today that I did not order. The customer was listed as my name but the email associated with the account (using my name) was betty@trebonics.com. Something very fishy going on with this. I have had credit companies contact me over the years where someone was using my address but the name "betty". I wonder if this is the same person. I will look into mail fraud or contacting amazon. I do not like the idea of someone using my name to purchase items...the fact that they sent it to me is what has me stumped...maybe setting up a false trail.
Jesus blessings!

I accidentally shipped a book I was returning to a return address from an item I purchased from "Quality7" on Amazon back in January, and have been waging a frustrating battle with "Jeff" ever since. Having now filed my Amazon and BBB reports, I'm contemplating legal action just out of sheer frustration and a sense of injustice - anybody have any experience with pursuing these guys in court?
Also, C. Holloman, if you happen to live in Provo and happen to have received a Tort Law textbook you didn't order, let me know!

I just received an order from these people, and thought something was up when it was to be sent to a different address, and then they told me that their order stated not to send any invoices, which I could not find anywhere. Now I'm hoping not to have any problems with them. I will take some pics of my book in near perfect condition before sending, and then block them from my half.com account. I too think these people are parasites piggybacking off of others. They sell on Amazon & buy from Half.com knowing that it's cheaper. If you look at their feedback as milde4 on half, there is none as a seller, only a buyer.

I have just been ripped off by milde4 aka jeff@trebronics.com aka betty@trebonics.com on half.com. I put them on my blocked list and filed a claim with ebay but since they are a gigantic seller (drop shipper) I'm going to assume I'll lose.
Why does Amazon allow drop shippers to buy and sell on their site?
Posted by: Gary | April 14, 2011 3:02 PM
Because they make more money from them on commission. I have left amazon and half/ebay. There always going to find a way to screw us.

When the $120 text book I ordered from Trebonics through Amazon had not been delivered within 30 days, I contacted them to ask for shipping status. I received a polite response within an hour (on a statutory holiday)from Jeff explaining that the book must have been lost in the mail and a full refund was instantly processed to my credit card. I am disappointed not to have received the book, which I needed for a class that has since started, but I cannot fault the customer service I received under the circumstances. I hope the issues I have read about on this blog are eventually satisfactorily resolved.

I am another "satisfied" Trebronics customer. I bought a book from them in late March (along with 19 others from different sellers on amazon, biblio, half.com, alibris and abebooks). Guess which book out of the 20 was the only one I never received? I have returned their insurance form to them and am awaiting my refund...I will give them this, they respond quickly to emails. I hope they refund as quickly.

Hi, I am an actual seller in possession of books on half.com and Trebonics is using arbitrage to make money for nothing off my work. Here is how it goes, someone buys on Amazon.com from Trebonics, then Trebonics goes to half.com and buys the book at a fraction of their Amazon price and has the book shipped to their buyer by ME!. Yes, Trebonics never actually is in possession of the book. My last sale to trebonics on half.com, I found that a book I had listed as "like new" actually contained highlighting. I wrote back and got an e-mail from "Jeff" saying to send the book anyway. So that is how customers are dissatisfied with Trebonics. Trebonics never owns the book, pays for shipping, does the shipping or anything like that. They are nothing more than transaction parasites living the american dream of money for nothing.

Bloody paracites! I am a bookseller with books listed on Abe. I got an Abe order for a book of mine listed by Trebonics (quality7) on Amazon, at nearly triple my price. The customer then spotted the same book on my own website at the correct price and phoned me to order it. He ordered it and paid for it, then later that day I get an order from Abe for the same book from the same customer (actually Jeff posing as the customer). Thinking he was confused a called him and asked him to cancel the order. He said that he had tried but "Jeff" told him that the book had already been shipped (it was sitting on my desk) and his card had already been debited. I thought that
Abe had listed my books on Amazon, but this is not the case. I don't really know what to do as this Jeff bloke is selling my stock without my consent. Also the shipping times given could never be fulfulled by me as I am posting from South Africa and standard shipping was requested but in the emails to the purchaser it was quoted as 10 - 14 days. It would more than likely take 6 - 8 weeks. Jeff if you are reading this...watch out!

I purchased a book via Amazon from any_book on June 2; this evidently is another business name being used by Trebonics. The book was quite pricey--out of print but "like new"--and I was willing to pay because it was a birthday present. The birthday came and went, but still no book. although I was asked by any_book to be patient. I'm in the same fix as many of the foregoing posters: just received an "insurance" form to return before they'll issue a refund. Makes me wonder who the "insuror" is, given that they supposedly sent the book without tracking or insurance. Now that I realize they didn't actually have the book in their possession, I see that the form must be used in order for them to get a refund from the actual sender. So any_book, aka Trebonics, never loses a cent on books lost in transit. I'll be much more careful in the future when dealing with 3rd-party sellers.

The book I ordered on June 14th through Quality 7 on Amazon was apparently serviced via Trebonics. The estimated delivery date came and went, and Trebonics responded to my email by telling me the item had been sent and I needed to wait a full 30 days before submitting complaint. At 30 days the item STILL had not arrived. I sent a second email and was told that I would have to fill out a "Delivery Insurance Form" in order to have my account credited. The email was insolent in tone, and the insurance form they sent is offensive. These people are NOT customer-friendly.
The insurance form states as follows:
"Although most deliveries take only a few days you must allow at least 35 days for delivery before filing for non-receipt of your order. The Delivery Insurance Form must be received within 90 days of the date you placed your order. Once we have received this form and verified that the information on it is correct we will issue you a full refund.
"By signing this form you hereby certify that the information on it is correct. You also certify that the above referenced order was not received at the given address either by yourself or by someone else, whether it be a family member, relative or neighbor. You also certify that you would have known if the package were received at the address given above, regardless of when it arrived. You also acknowledge your understanding that any false claim of non-receipt of merchandise, if proven incorrect by a shipping tracking number or some other means, violates federal and state criminal fraud laws and may result in Trebonics, Inc. prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law."
These are not good people to do business with!

Update:
A few days after complaining about the additional delay occasioned by the "insurance" form, I did receive a refund, which I used to order the book from another--I hope much better--seller. With luck the book, which was intended as a birthday gift, will arrive a month after said birthday.
Receiving the refund was a relief, but life is too short to deal with this kind of c**p.

The Better Business Bureau apparently had no complaints lodged against quality7 in the last 12 months - maybe you should lodge some if you're still having problems with them?

I ordered a very expensive out-of-print book. When it arrived, I discovered that the cover of the book is that of the one that I wanted, but the book inside was completely different. Apparently you really can't judge a book by its cover. My book on English manuscripts was actually a book on hydraulic engineering inside, and someone had cut-and-paste it into the new cover. So far, there is no response from the seller and I fully expect to lose my $120 for this book.

I am getting screwed this time. He bought the book but thought it was a hardcover. There is no hardcover edition of this particular book. I was the original buyer of this insurance exam book. However, someone on Amazon is advertising this as a hardcover for $100 more. Anyway, Ebay has sent me a message telling me that funds will be removed from my account as soon as they verify the book was returned. Since this was a half.com transaction, I did not fully recover my shipping costs.

Just received what I had hoped for would have been a book tiltled: Europe's Last Summer. In place of a book for which I am to study, we 9 CD discs. It seems the book came from Gray Sky Books and not Trebronics via Amazon. What is it with Amazon and Trebronics??????
Got to figure out how to return these very expensive CD's and get a the book.

I am having a serious issue with this same seller: quality7. I am so frustrated. From what I read here, this seller is deliberately switch and baiting books and then not refunding. I ordered a $120 dollar book from this person, they sent me another book by the same author worth $15. When I emailed Jeff at pjhyw7rv3gmb7zf@marketplace.amazon.com he blamed this on Amazon saying that it was their fault, they put the wrong book up there. I told him to refund my money first and I will send the book back and he wants me to send the book back first, so, I just opened a claim against him with Amazon telling them that there are others out there who this person has stolen from, we'll see what happens. Thank you thank you for providing this site.

by the way, this is the mailing address that I was given for Jeff (anti-) quality7:

This guy is shifty, at best. I bought a book from him and he claimed it could take 30 days to arrive via UNTRACKED USPS delivery. After two weeks, I was about to dispute the purchase through my bank when the book arrived, "coincidentally" two days after I contacted the seller.
Here's a link on the SC Secretary of State's site that's interesting.

I ordered a book TAKE IT EASY to QUALITY 7, a big vendor at Amazon. After I placed such order, Amazon emailed me a confirmation. I saw the shipping address was uncompleted, and I emailed this vendor QUALITY 7. After several tries, the only answer I got was that they shipped to address I wrote on my order (false, they missed apartment number). So, they didn't solve the problem, I didn't receive the book, and after all the worse was when a QUALITY 7 representative named JEFF was very sarcastic on his answers as I was stupid to complaint about his costumer service, and he also lied me telling that they didn't have another copy of the book (it was when I asked for them resend another copy, since they had made a mistake on my address), but they still had the book selling on Amazon. What a poor service, and what a rude guy this JEFF...

I have sold on half.com to milde4 many times without incident. Today was the first time I've received an email from "Jeff" Telling me a book I sent hasn't arrived and he requested a refund. Luckily, I used a delivery confirmation number and the tracking information shows the book reached the address I was provided. Will be interesting to see what transpires. Depending on what happens, milde4 may end up on my blocked bidder list.
