Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you might think it's a long walk down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space.

Damn..way to burst my bubble. For 50+ years I just KNEW I was the center of the Universe! Great video..now if I can only get people to sit and watch it....and learn...

A cool video affirming yet again why I don't dare try to study or think about astronomy. I can barely get my head around population genetics.

Mind-boggling? 'Zat all? Try heart-breakingly. Much bigger than mere mind-boggling. More daunting. Leaves you with an even greater heartache.

What are all you wankers talking about? The universe ain't all that much. I am a significant part of the universe.

Pretty impressive! Do I have it wrong, or was the Earth spinning the wrong way in the video?

"Do I have it wrong, or was the Earth spinning the wrong way in the video?"
Yep you are correct. Assuming that all the planets are shown with their poles in the usual configuration only Venus is spinning the correct direction since it is the only planet shown that has retrograde rotation about its axis.

Just to continue in this pedantic excursion, all the objects are shown spinning with the same angular velocity which is also whack.
I think the folks that made this great video new that and just thought it looked cooler to have them all spinning at the same rate and in the same direction.

Holy crap, they're using the theme song to The Black Hole!

I think the term you're all looking for is "astronomical". Or as Feynman would say, "economical".

Thanks Lance. Maybe it was just easier.
