…What about the hateful rhetorical attacks against me … that come routinely from the Left? … Honestly, this is the type of malicious, hateful slander I experience on a daily basis… has SPLC ever cited a homosexual activist group like ACT UP for “hateful” actions/assaults against religious groups? Have you investigated malicious websites like Joe Jervis’ “Joe.My.God” blog — which revels in grotesque smears against AFTAH and other Christian conservatives?

I don’t know if you know Joe.My.God. but it’s a great blog, and is now totally RWC (Right-Wing-Certified). (Well, it has been for a while….) Check it out.

    I don’t see shutting down JMG. He simply quotes them and trusts his readers to make their own decisions about what they’ve read. I don’t usually donate to individual bloggers but if Pete LaBarbera manages to cause any sort of legal entanglement for Joe Jervis, I will be donating whatever I can, which is saying a lot since I am a grad student…

    No, Pete, that’s not a double standard, that’s a reasonable standard. I’m sorry, but

    a., you maliciously spreading lies about a minority

    and

    b., others criticizing you for it

    just aren’t morally equivalent sides of the same coin.

    Joe Jervis labels LaBarbera a habitual liar obsessed with the wilder fringe of gay sex – that isn’t a hateful rhetorical attack, it’s a simple fact obvious to every objective, reasonable observer even after only superficial research.
