Crazy Church Lady will Likely Run for President

Her statement:

Well, every decision that I make I pray about as does my husband and I can tell you, yes, I’ve had that calling and that tugging on my heart that this is the right thing to do and because it’s such a momentous decision, not only for myself, my husband and our 28 children, it is a momentous decision what ideas will I bring to bear? What are the resources that I have to marshal in terms of people, assets, the message and also the finances, the amount of time this will take, what this will mean for the nation. Am I the right person for the job? Every decision and every endeavor my husband and I have made we think it through, we’re not rash people. We make a plan because we want to succeed, we don’t want to fail and so we’ve been very deliberative in this process and that’s why we’re now coming to the culmination and next month, as I announced last night, I’ll make that decision right here in Waterloo and the world will know.

Wow. Can’t wait to see her in front of the UN, or giving the State of the Union, or explaining in a fireside chat why she pressed the button and destroyed the world in a nuclear Armageddon!

Bachmann puts the “I” in the word “run”: if she wins the nomination, she’ll ruin any chance of a republican president in 2012.

The last five losing democratic party presidential candidates were all milquetoast compromises across the party: Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Gore and Kerry. Their presence cost them the election.

The republicans have done that themselves (Ford, Bush 1, Dole), but now they are choosing extremists with no chance of winning: McCain, and a seemingly long list of teabaggers and nutbags like Palin, Bachmann and Romney.

Barring a major screwup by Obama or an untainted or less-tainted nobody appearing who can get the base (immoral, low) republican base (ground support, voters) to vote for him, a re-election of Obama seems a foregone conclusion in light of the OBL killing, the jobs turnaround and car bailouts. If the republicans go with a teabagger, it’s a guaranteed loss; they’d need to recruit someone like Bentley from Alabama who might get democrats to vote for him and against Obama.

This simply cements my “Really, Really, Terminally Bored God” Hypothesis. I should win the nobel peace prize for medicine in physics for this.

I loved this passage in Sam Harris’s The End of Faith that went more or less like: “President Bush says he ‘talks to God’ all the time. If he said he ‘talks to God through a hairdryer’ all the time, there were would be an international crisis. I fail to see the material distinction that the presence or absence of a hairdryer makes.”
