Day One At SICB

I have been running into people I know from graduate school all day long, and thus, haven't gotten to attend as many talks and posters as I'd like. Hopefully, I will be able to catch up with my grad school colleagues sometime during the next few days. I also have some talks and posters to tell you about, mostly about birds, but right now, I am somewhat nervous about the panel discussion, so will put that off until later tonight, when I can concentrate a little better.

For those of you who are attending SICB ("sick bee"), our panel presentation will be between 7-9pm tonight in the Curtis Room which is in the Hyatt Hotel, instead of the convention center.

RE the panel discussion: I don't why all the discussion is necessary. Paneling is passe, go with paint. You can add some texture by sponging it.

Wow, you're rocking that panel as I type this. (OK, actually, they're still probably introducing you, but by the time I hit the post button, you'll be rocking the panel!) Seriously, I know you'll do a great job. I'd wish you luck but you don't need it!

Do great at the panel grrlscientist - remember, they already love you, and want to hear what you have to say. You don't have to convince anyone of anything! Just blog from the stage. 8)

It's the Library Diva's fault I'm here, she raved about your site ..... She was right. It is a good one.

I know zero about what you do, but I'll keep looking in ..... Even a blind pig finds an acorn every now and then. In the mean time, here's a fellow in Australia that has some amazing birds in his backyard :
