Another Harry Potter Book!

I know we all were told that the seventh Harry Potter book was the last one, but it appears that this is not true! JK Rowling has written yet another book, entitled The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

Do you recognize the title? This was the book that Dumbledore gave to Hermione in the seventh and last book of the series. This book of wizarding fairy tales contained clues for the fearless trio to use in their quest to finally defeat Lord Voldemort.

As an added bonus, there are only seven copies of this book in the world. Further, the book is handwritten and illustrated by the author. Six of the books were given to Rowling's close friends while the seventh is being auctioned by Sotheby's on December 13, and the proceeds will go to the charity, The Children's Voice, which is dedicated to improving the lives of children in eastern Europe. The book has a starting price of £30,000 ($62,482 US).

"The Tales of Beedle the Bard is really a distillation of the themes found in the Harry Potter books," said Rowling. "Writing it has been the most wonderful way to say goodbye to a world I have loved and lived in for 17 years."

Anybody want to take any bets on how long it takes for the book to show up online?

It kinda blows that most of her fans would never be able to afford to purchase the sole copy for sale of this book. I hope she mass-publishes it soon.

Anyone else out there who'd prefer to read Hogwarts: A History?

Just to lower the tone around here, this from Ansible Link:

J.K. ROWLING surprised a Carnegie Hall audience with the news that her Hogwarts headmaster was gay, and had been in love with his rival Grindelwald. Fans tried hard not to remember the comment by JKR's character Rita Skeeter about Dumbledore and his legendary duel of magic with that rival: 'After they've read my book, people may be forced to
conclude that Grindelwald simply conjured a white handkerchief from the end of his wand and came quietly.'
