Concisus Vitae


    GrrlScientist is an evolutionary biologist, ornithologist, aviculturist and freelance science and nature writer. A native of the Pacific Northwest, she relocated from Seattle to NYC with her parrots after earning her PhD. In NYC, she was a postdoctoral fellow for two years, reconstructing a molecular phylogeny of the parrots of the South Pacific islands. GrrlScientist has written a science blog since 4 August 2004 (the early years are archived here). GrrlScientist is currently contributing to a collaborative group blog, A Vote for Science, which focuses on the upcoming presidential election and the candidates' positions on science, medicine and technology. Well, GrrlScientist made it to the airport on time this morning, and hopefully all of her flights are on time and bump-free. We had a great time showing her all the sights (including the lovely ball-o-twine above), and she should have a decent bird list to share with all of you soon.
