As of yesterday, an impoverished pre-kindergarten through 3rd grade classroom from PS111 in the Bronx, NYC, learned that they will be able to learn about birds and other local wildlife because you, Seed Media Group and Random House Publishers donated enough for them to fulfill their funding request to purchase binoculars for the kids to use. Thank you!
Of course, I will be sharing all updates with you that they and all "our classrooms" send during the upcoming school year.

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my young scientists. My few well used binoculars are hard to share among groups of young students. I am thrilled to be able to give each young naturalist their own window on the world. We have been hiking in our next door urban park. It is a "Forever Wild" site with the most amazing migrating and local birds. Students are learning to "look up" into the canopy of our stately sweet gums, oaks and maples. We have seen blue jays and even what we think might be a scarlet tanager. Thank you for giving our young ones a tool not just for bringing nature closer but also for helping them focus and zero in on the beauty of their world. This is the first time I have ever requested anything for my students. I told them what I was doing. I can only imagine their excitement when I tell them the binoculars are on their way!!!!!
