I don't usually comment on these because I'm not a birder & so have no idea. But I just want you to know that I really enjoy seeing the pictures and learning about the birds.

Actually, I believe this is The Bird Formerly Known As the Common Snipe, that is, it's a Wilson's Snipe, the recently renamed North American version of the Common Snipe. And yeah, the stripes on the back, the striped head, "orange tail" and "stockier than a dowitcher" (Sibley).
