Update: Antarctic Vote Count

Topic Categories:
Posted on: July 2, 2009 5:30 PM, by "GrrlScientist"

The current Antarctic Trip Vote count is as follows; 683 - 557 - 266 - 234 - 233 out of 210 candidates registered. I am in second place.

If you've already voted, then please encourage your family, friends, colleagues and neighbors to vote for the person whom you think would be best for this unique job: traveling to Antarctica for the month of February 2010 and writing about it for the public on a blog. Here is my 300-word essay. Voting ends 30 September and there is one vote allowed per valid email address (registration required).

Of course, the gap is widening, no thanks to the site itself, since it is rejecting many votes that are in support of me, according to the many complaints I receive daily. (My supporters have also told me that they've complained about these technical issues to the Antarctic webmaster -- who ignores them). If the Antarctic cruise site is actively encouraging multiple votes from individuals with multiple email addresses, then why would they not accept votes from those people who support me who only have one email address? Something smells really bad here, and it's not a dead polar bear, either.

BTW, if you get to go, make sure to take a bunch of those book that were recommended to you last week on your blog. You can't spend ALL your time blogging can you?
